South Dakotans Talking is back with a new topic!

As a state South Dakota is faced with a decision — do we wish to partner with the federal government to strengthen our state Medicaid health insurance program to cover thousands of low-income uninsured South Dakotans?
Please join us for a non-partisan conversation about this decision. We’ll start by reviewing the research to learn the objective facts around this decision — Who is impacted? What will it cost? How will it affect health care providers and consumers in South Dakota? Next we will look at the decision from your local perspective. Finally, we will begin a group discussion, seeking areas of consensus and identifying what actions, if any, South Dakotans want to take.

South Dakotans Talking conversations on Medicaid Expansion can be scheduled in either secular or non-secular venues in SD.  These public discussions are being coordinated by the nonpartisan SD Budget & Policy Project – a project of South Dakota Voices for Children.  Additional partners include SD League of Women Voters, SD chapter of National Social Workers Association, SD Council of Christian Churches, SD Bread for the World.

For questions or to host a conversation in your community, please contact Joy Smolnisky, project director or call at 605-367-9667 (office) or 605-351-9005 (cell).  Check out currently scheduled events here!
