This month marks the first anniversary of SD Budget & Policy Institutes (BPI) work in South Dakota
“WHAT – hasn’t that group been at it for years in South Dakota???”
Yup – since 2010 – but under an old title of SD Budget & Policy Project, which was a project of SD Voices for Children
Now BPI is all grown up – no longer a part of Voices for Children – but doing the same non-partisan research on fiscal policy as a stand-alone 501 c 3 non-profit corporation.
The SD Budget & Policy Institute:
- monitors the SD budget process
- researches fiscal policy proposals and options
- provides policy makers, media and the general public with education about their non-partisan findings
You can see details on the ABOUT US page of this website.
Stop by our new office at 1000 E 41st Street in Sioux Falls and visit Executive Director Joy Smolnisky. Or invite her to come speak to your service group, organization, church or any gathering that is interested in becoming more informed about State fiscal policy and budget process. Our mission is still the same: promote responsible and equitable fiscal policy through research and education.
If you happen to run into any of our volunteer board members – in their hometowns across South Dakota – wish them happy birthday too!
